When I speak, my goal is to inspire people to go for their dreams in life, to take a chance, to try their hand at a career or hobby they've always thought about but might have been afraid to try.
I didn't begin writing until I was almost 50 years old, and surprised myself that I actually had writing talent. That’s when I realized what being passionate about something in life felt like.
Although numerous writers are introverts, I’m quite the opposite and truly enjoy speaking to all age groups, and we always have a great time.
I've spoken to small and medium sized groups of elementary grade students and given talks to entire school assemblies of Kindergarten through 8th Grade. On one occasion I essentially became a substitute teacher for a full day, speaking to six different classes of high school juniors and seniors in their literature/writing classes.
I've also given talks to adults at libraries about my writing and the world of self-publishing.
In November 2018, I spoke at assisted-living locations in St. Louis, Mo. It was a wonderful experience and I met such lovely people.
